My main current teaching and R&D interests are:
- Peer review
- Metrics (scientometrics, bibliometrics)
- Process mechanism and explanation (systemic analysis
according to Bunge)
- Metrics of process (e.g. validity, reliability) and of
authors' and referees' records in time
- Computational support to automate analyses and assessment of
processes, works, and feedbacks
- Applications in education
- Student self-organization of peer review rounds
- Applications in business
- Modeling
- Systemic modeling and analysis (CESM-Bunge)
- Database/information modeling
- Translation between natural and modeling languages
- Ontologies and knowledge modeling (esp. a non-functionalist
view
of knowledge engineering - one that allows for insighting, serendipity
and other possibilities through support for human thinking instead of
automatically doing the 'thinking')
- Ontology (esp. Bunge's systemism, CESM model - Composition,
Environment, Structure, and Mechanism)
- Use of this ontology in high-level modeling (higher than the
CommonKADS contextual models), including for modeling
computer-processable ontologies
- Information systems, knowledge systems
- e-gov platforms
- Information exchange, common ontologies
